If you are new to the sealed bid process following is information you may find helpful.
Here is what a Heartland Recovery sealed bid process involves. Heartland Recovery will advertise in regional media as well as this website when it will be conducting its sealed bid sales. These will be held approximately every six to eight weeks in our Iowa City, Iowa facility. We will list items for sales in upcoming events on this site and in print media. You may review the list before the actual sale to see if you have interest in attending and/or bidding. Bids may be faxed (please see our Contact Us page) into Heartland Recovery if you are unable to attend but have interest in an item(s). All items are sold as is where is with no guarantees or warranties.
Sealed bid sales offer a unique, relaxed atmosphere in which you can take as little time as you prefer or up to a 2 1/2 day (typical sale length) period to bid on an item! You can browse our facility at sale time while learning of detailed information about each item in catalogs we provide. You can find descriptions and/or photos on our website prior to each sale (www.heartlandrecoveryinc.com).
You can submit a written bid on forms provided any time during the sale - up to the advertised bid deadline. This is typically 12:00 noon on the last sale date.
High bidders will be contacted within approximately 3 days of end of the sale. You will have a 5 business day period to pay (cash, money orders, cashiers check, no personal or company checks) and pick up your material. Heartland Recovery will provide forklifts (loading docks are available) and labor to load your material free of charge. A small percentage of items per sale may require a load-out fee if a professional other than the Heartland Recovery staff is deemed necessary. These items requiring a load-out fee will be clearly identified in all descriptions where applicable.
Please note a 13% buyer's fee will be added to your bid total. Buyer's fees are typical to this industry. This fee covers a variety of services including, but not limited to, the cost of loading material, palletizing and shrink wrapping items if necessary and providing the catalogs to all visitors describing sale items.
We are confident as Heartland Recovery customers you will be satisfied with the personal service provided at each and every sale. Our goals are to make it easy for our buyers to buy and to earn your trust and repeat business!
